Counselling
Although we all hope to get through life without major problems, the reality is that most of us have to face difficult circumstances at some point. At such times it can help to talk to someone else in privacy, and in confidence.
Counselling offers you the opportunity to talk about important issues, to be listened to, and gain new understanding and awareness. Counsellors do not have any magic answers, but they will take your concerns very seriously and give you time, space, and support, to look at them afresh.
It is hoped that this process will help you to reach a better understanding of yourself and of possible choices and solutions. No problem is too small or too big, to bring to counselling.
Confidentiality
You can talk to a counsellor in confidence. Nothing you say will be revealed to anyone else and no-one will know that you are coming for counselling unless you wish to tell them. The important exception to this rule would be if the counsellor was concerned that you or another person was at risk of serious harm. Our confidentiality guidelines will be fully explained to you in your first meeting with a counsellor.
