We are celebrating several finalists in the South Yorkshire Apprenticeship Awards 2026
Barnsley College is celebrating the success of its apprentices and staff after being shortlisted as finalists in the South Yorkshire Apprenticeship Awards 2026.
The awards recognise outstanding apprentices, employers and training providers from across the region who are championing the impact of apprenticeships.
In total, six apprentices and one staff member from Barnsley College have been named finalists across multiple categories, ahead of the awards ceremony on Thursday 21 May. The finalists are:
• Advanced Apprentice: Katie Cherry and Sean Fearn
• Higher Apprentice: Rebecca Watson
• Engineering/Manufacturing Apprentice: Eve Elliott
• Technology and Digital Apprentice: Jonathan Blackledge
• Mentor of the Year: Bethany Dunnill
In addition, the College’s Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Practitioner Apprenticeship has been shortlisted in the Training Provider/Programme category.
