Chilypep

The Children and Young Peoples Empowerment Project have developed a range of resources to help with mental health and self-care.

The Open Up Barnsley guide provides emotional wellbeing and mental health support for all children and young people in Barnsley.

Barnsley Talking Therapies

Barnsley Talking Therapies is an NHS service which offers support with:

  1. Depression
  2. Low mood
  3. Sleep problems
  4. Anxiety
  5. OCD
  6. PTSD

Referrals for Barnsley Talking Therapies can be made directly through the their service online. Alternatively, you can make a referral through the Health and Wellbeing team.

IDAS

IDAS is the largest specialist charity in the North supporting people affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.

If you have any concerns over domestic abuse in your relationship or anyone else’s, IDAS can help.

The Health and Wellbeing team are able to make a referral into IDAS for any young person who may need support.

Spectrum offer several sexual health and wellbeing services including:

Compass Be 

Compass Be offer mental health support for children and young people under 18, helping them cope with grief, bereavement, and difficult times.

BSARCS

BSARCS offer specialised support for individuals who have experienced sexual violence - including rape, sexual assault, or sexual abuse - across the Barnsley area.

CAMHS Barnsley provide NHS mental health support for children and young people up to 18, as well as their parents and carers.

  • Urgent support for young people at immediate risk

  • Advice and guidance for parents and carers

Waythrough

Waythrough provide free, confidential support for mental health, substance use, housing, and related challenges - without judgment.

Barnsley Core Community Mental Health Team (CMHT)
