Technical Theatre Level 3 Extended Diploma Full-time
This course allows you to develop skills in the technical area of Live Events and Venues and has been developed in collaboration with employers so that the content meets the needs of industry. The UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing and Production Arts - Technical Theatre pathway prepares students for entry into skilled employment, an apprenticeship or related technical study through Higher Education.
You will experience practical and knowledge-based learning at College, and on-the-job experience through an industry placement of at least 60 hours per year.
During the course you will develop your communication skills, self-confidence and gain knowledge related to being an Events Technician, whilst working as part of a committed and creative team. The course provides the opportunity to interpret and assess client requirements for varied productions, across both the Performing Arts and Music departments, assisting with the implementation of the different stages of an event/production in accordance with the client requirements. You will also learn how to select, utilise and maintain the appropriate industry equipment/technology.
Specific topics covered include:
Internal and external client requirements
Planning an event/production
Different stages of an event/production
Technical Theatre production skills eg: lighting, stage design, stage management etc.
Use and maintenance of industry equipment and/or technology
Evaluation against client requirements
Legislation/regulations

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.
If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths, you will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards achieving a higher grade in English and Maths, we can help you do that too and we offer Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) which maybe added to your study programme, subject to approval from your chosen department.
If you're aged 19 or above and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths we can help. We offer FREE English and Maths qualifications that can be studied on a part-time basis, subject to eligibility.
