MOT Testing (Classes 4 and 7) Level 2 Award (IMI)
This qualification has been primarily developed for individuals who wish to enhance their careers by qualifying as an MOT Tester. Achievement of this qualification enables them to apply to undertake the DVSA final observed assessment in order to gain their Certificate of Competence (CoC), allowing them to become a Nominated Tester.
The content of this qualification has been designed to reflect the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for MOT Testers.
The qualification includes:
Working safely within a vehicle test centre
Communicating with colleagues and customers
Managing and maintaining their CPD
Carrying out pre-test checks
Conducting an MOT test
The content has been designed to cover the requirements for all prospective Nominated Testers. It is based on the suite of National Occupational Standards (NOS) developed by the IMI, in conjunction with the DVSA and the MOT industry, in 2015.
