HN Flex Construction - Digital Applications for Construction Information (Unit 6) Part-time
During this course, students will explore the importance of construction drawings in project success. Students will gain proficiency in producing accurate and consistent construction information through industry-standard software. The curriculum includes key types of construction information, project standards and setup in digital applications, and the creation of comprehensive construction information packages. This course is part of the South Yorkshire Institute of Technology (SYIoT).
This course will span two days within the week, specifically Monday and Tuesday morning (time TBC) and evening (5.30pm-8.30pm).

How much does the course cost?
An individual unit costs £500. You can study this unit alongside the Building Information Modelling unit at no cost until October 2025. For more information please see below.

As a Higher Education student living in England you may be eligible for the non-means tested Tuition Fee Loan from the Government and a Maintenance Loan.
Students with children or dependant adults may qualify for a Childcare Grant or Adult Dependants' Grant. Students can apply for these at the same time as applying for a Maintenance Loan.
Remember: Eligible students will not have to pay tuition fees in advance and can apply for the Maintenance Loan before they start the course.
We offer a service to any student who has a diagnosis of anything persistent or long-term which might interfere with how they study and manage their day-to-day academic engagement. The service is flexible and shaped around the needs of each individual; it might be consistent support or intermittent support.
You must have GCSE grades at 4/C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
You will also need one of the following:
BTEC Level 3 qualification in Construction
Related Level 3 qualification in Construction
An Access to Higher Education Diploma from an approved Further Education institution
Relevant industry work experience
Equivalent international qualifications for the above will also be accepted.
Anyone looking to retrain in a new career or upskill to enhance their existing career can apply if they:
are aged between 19 and 60
live in England
live outside of England but work in England (some further conditions may apply; check eligibility with the provider)
Authorised Assignment Briefs; graded Pass, Merit and Distinction in the following areas for this unit:
Discuss construction information.
Demonstrate the use of digital applications.
Generate construction information using digital applications.
Presentation of your chosen construction project.
You will need to bring basic stationery and drawing equipment with paper and a folder. All other equipment for the course will be provided.

Progression opportunities:
Enhance career and employment opportunities in the workplace.
Further study within HN suite and then progress to HND and further university level study.
Ability to €œstack€ skills towards a full long term Higher National qualification in the future.
Study further individual HN units which have been adopted from the Ofqual regulated suite.
Progress to a full HN via the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process.
The opportunity to align individual units to Apprenticeship Standards.
Receive a Certificate of Unit Completion which will detail the unit studied.
The Certificate of Unit Completion will not contain the Ofqual logo, only available of completion of the full HN qualification.
