Digital Software Development Level 3 T Level Full-time
The Level 3 Digital Software Development T Level is a two-year Level 3 programme for students who want to design, build, test and improve software solutions. It will develop your knowledge and practical skills needed to design, build, test and maintain modern software solutions.
You will develop practical programming and problem-solving skills while learning how professional software is created from initial requirements through to design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
You will explore areas including programming, web development, databases, APIs, software testing, cybersecurity, version control and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
Alongside your College studies, you will complete a minimum 45-day industry placement, giving you the opportunity to apply your skills in a real workplace and gain valuable professional experience.

- Business, legislation and professional practice
- Completion of an industry placement lasting a minimum of 45-days
The course develops both your programming ability and your understanding of how software is created professionally. The specification requires students to implement software using at least two appropriate programming languages and covers areas such as front-end and back-end development, databases, APIs, responsive interfaces, security and deployment. In your second year, you will apply these skills to larger development projects and create web-based applications using C# and ASP.NET. You will work through the full software development lifecycle — analysing requirements, designing solutions, developing functionality, working with data, testing your applications and making improvements based on feedback.
You will also develop professional working practices including version control, source control, collaborative development and the use of industry-standard development environments.
By the end of the course, you will have experience of taking a software project from an initial idea and user requirements through to a working, tested and maintainable software solution.

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.
If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths, you will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards achieving a higher grade in English and Maths, we can help you do that too and we offer Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) which maybe added to your study programme, subject to approval from your chosen department.
If you're aged 19 or above and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths we can help. We offer FREE English and Maths qualifications that can be studied on a part-time basis, subject to eligibility.
