Bookkeeping AAT Level 2 Part-time (Monday, flexible start dates)
The AAT Bookkeeping Level 2 is designed to provide you with the practical skills and financial expertise to allow you to follow a rewarding career in professional accountancy.
The course provides a thorough foundation in bookkeeping and basic accounting practices, including all aspects of double entry bookkeeping up to and including preparing an accurate trial balance.
What you will learn
Introduction to Bookkeeping
This unit provides students with an understanding of manual and digital bookkeeping systems, including the associated documents and processes. Students will learn the basic principles that underpin the double-entry bookkeeping systems.

Process customer transactions
Process supplier transactions
Process receipts and payments
Process transactions into the ledger accounts
Principles of Bookkeeping Controls
Building on the knowledge and skills acquired from studying Introduction to Bookkeeping, this unit explores control accounts, journals and reconciliations. Students will develop the ability to prepare the value added tax (VAT) control accounts as well as the receivables and payables ledger accounts. They will use the journal to record a variety of transactions, including the correction errors. Students will be able to redraft the initial trial balance, following adjustments.

Having good English and Maths qualifications are important for most careers and we want to give you the help you need to succeed.
If you are aged 16 - 19 and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths, you will automatically be included in your study programme. If you want to work towards achieving a higher grade in English and Maths, we can help you do that too and we offer Level 3 Mathematical Studies (Core Maths) which maybe added to your study programme, subject to approval from your chosen department.
If you're aged 19 or above and don't hold a grade C/4 or above in GCSE English and Maths we can help. We offer FREE English and Maths qualifications that can be studied on a part-time basis, subject to eligibility.
