Apprentice represents Sheffield Forgemasters at Nuclear Week in Parliament 2026

Eve Elliot networking at Nuclear Week in Parliament 2026

Level 4 Associate Project Manager apprentice, Eve Elliott, showcased the value of apprenticeships at the Nuclear Week in Parliament 2026.

Nuclear Week in Parliament 2026, led by the Nuclear Industry Association, was an opportunity for organisations across the nuclear sector to engage with policymakers and industry stakeholders and highlight the importance of nuclear to the UK.

Eve’s role was to attend Sheffield Forgemasters’ own event, hosted by Mr Clive Betts MP, where she took part in networking with attendees and supported stakeholder engagement. The event included speeches from Sheffield Forgemasters CEO, Gary Nutter, The Mayor of South Yorkshire, Oliver Coppard, and Lord McNicol, which highlighted the strategic importance of the sector.

She represented the face of Sheffield Forgemasters’ apprenticeship programme, speaking to attendees about what an apprenticeship at the organisation offers and the opportunities available.

Eve also attended a skills and apprenticeship fair hosted by Lizzi Collinge MP, engaging with apprentices from across the nuclear sector. Highlights included hearing from Keely Salter, National Skills Academy for Nuclear Apprentice of the Year, who shared her experience and demonstrated the strong career pathways available through nuclear apprenticeships.

Eve said: “Being involved in Nuclear Week in Parliament helped me understand how individual projects and organisations contribute to national strategy and policy. It has inspired me to join the Nuclear Industry Young Generation Network so I can build relationships across the sector and continue developing a long-term career in nuclear.

“The most rewarding part of my apprenticeship has been applying project management tools from the classroom directly in the workplace. Seeing theory work in practice has increased my confidence and shown the real value of the apprenticeship in a live industrial environment.”
