University Centre welcomes students back with Higher Education Refresher event
Barnsley College University Centre welcomed its Higher Education students back after the Christmas break with a successful Refresher event.
The event was designed to help University Centre students re-engage with university life, refresh their knowledge of key processes and reconnect with the wide range of support services available to them.
The Refresher event offered students a collaborative and informative experience, with attendees being able to engage directly with essential services including Health and Wellbeing, IT Services, Study Skills and Student Services, ensuring they felt supported, informed and confident as they continued their study journey.
Barnsley Council also attended the event providing students with information about their Pathway to Employment initiative, supporting those in the community with barriers to work.
Sessions were delivered in both morning and afternoon to maximise accessibility, with free refreshments offered to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, encouraging open discussion and helping students reconnect not only with staff but also with the wider College community.
The event reinforced Barnsley College University Centre’s commitment to listening to student feedback and adapting its support to meet evolving needs with the Students’ Union team encouraging students to give honest feedback on their experiences.
Following the event, staff across the College were thanked for their invaluable contributions. Their professionalism, enthusiasm, and commitment played a crucial role in the event’s success, with all elements coming together seamlessly to create an engaging and supportive experience for students.
Events such as the Higher Education Refresher highlight the strength of Barnsley College University Centre’s collaborative approach and its shared dedication to supporting students at every stage of their academic journey.
