Two of our students named finalists in Student of the Year Awards
Barnsley College is proud to have two exceptional finalists in the Association of Colleges’ prestigious Student of the Year Awards.
The College is the only institution to be represented twice across the four categories in the national awards. Just nine ‘truly unique’ students from across the country have been selected as finalists.
In the Apprentice of the Year category, Harry Clayton has been recognised for contributions that go ‘far beyond what is expected of an apprentice’.
Presley Beckham is a finalist in the Higher Education Student of the Year category, having progressed through a non-traditional route – from starting at Level 1 to completing a Level 5 Animal Management Foundation Degree.
Barnsley College Principal and CEO David Akeroyd said: “Harry and Presley are exceptional students and we couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve achieved.
“This recognition is thoroughly deserved for the determination, commitment and ambition they have shown throughout their time with us at Barnsley College.
“These are the qualities we see and encourage in all our students. Harry and Presley have embraced every challenge and opportunity in front of them and pushed themselves to continue to achieve more.
“We’re excited to see Harry and Presley representing the whole Barnsley College community at the AoC Annual Conference.”
The award winners will be announced at the AoC Annual Conference on Tuesday 18 November.
